Perth’s coastal electrician
EV chargers, switchboard upgrades, lighting and emergency call-outs from Fremantle to Ocean Reef. Nineteen years on the tools, a fixed price in writing, and certified when it is done.
Five services. One licensed electrician.
Higher-value electrical work done properly, by one licensed electrician who is accountable for all of it.
EV Charger Installation
A dedicated wall charger fills your car overnight, every night, instead of trickling off a powerpoint in the garage.
- Switchboard assessed as part of every EV quote
- Single-phase and three-phase installs
- Supply the charger, or fit the one you already have
- Dedicated protected circuit, tested and certified
Switchboard Upgrades
Ceramic fuses, missing safety switches, or a breaker that trips every time the kettle and the heater are on together.
- Ceramic fuse and rewireable boards replaced
- RCD safety switch installation
- Boards labelled properly, with spare capacity
- Fault finding and nuisance tripping traced
LED Lighting Upgrades
Halogen downlights draw roughly ten times what an LED does, and they run hot enough to be a problem in the ceiling.
- Halogen to LED downlight conversions
- Ceiling insulation and fitting condition checked
- Outdoor, garden and sensor lighting
- Dimmer compatibility sorted properly
Emergency Electrician
Power out, a breaker that will not stay on, or a smell of burning from a powerpoint. Some problems should not wait.
- Available 24 hours, 7 days
- Loss of power and repeated tripping
- Burning smells, scorching and hot switches
- Storm and water damage made safe
General Electrical
Powerpoints, smoke alarms, fault finding and renovation wiring, which make up most of what an electrician actually does.
- Additional powerpoints and USB outlets
- Hardwired smoke alarms
- Ceiling fans, ovens and cooktops
- Fault finding on circuits that never worked right

Frequently asked questions
Do you charge for a quote?
No. Quotes are free and you get a fixed price in writing before any work starts, so you know what it costs before you commit.
What areas do you cover?
The coastal strip of Perth, from Fremantle up to Ocean Reef, based in Sorrento. If you are a suburb or two inland, call anyway and Oliver will tell you straight whether it is worth the trip.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Forster Electrical Co is a licensed electrical contractor and carries full insurance. Every job is certified and compliant on completion.
Will my switchboard handle an EV charger?
Sometimes yes, often not without work. A 7kW charger is one of the biggest loads in a home, so the board gets checked as part of every EV quote. If it needs upgrading you are told at quote stage, not halfway through the install.
Do you do emergency call-outs?
Yes, 24 hours for genuine electrical emergencies: loss of power, repeated tripping, burning smells or storm damage. If it can wait, say so and it gets booked normally at a normal price.
Who actually does the work?
Oliver does. Forster Electrical Co is owner operated, so the person who quotes the job is the person who does it and the person who answers the phone afterwards.
