Privacy Policy

Forster Electrical Co is an electrical contracting business based in Sorrento, Western Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you enquire with us, how we use it, and how you can have it changed or removed.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

We only collect what we need to quote and carry out electrical work:

• When you submit an enquiry form, on this site or through a Facebook or Instagram lead form: your name, phone number, email address, suburb, and the answers you give about the job.
• When you call us from one of our advertisements: your phone number, the date, time and duration of the call, and a record that it came from an ad. Advertised numbers are tracked numbers that connect straight through to us.
• When you visit this site: standard technical information such as the pages you view, the advertisement you arrived from, and general device information.
• When we quote or do work for you: your address, details of the work, and the records we are required to keep as a licensed electrical contractor.

How we use it

• To contact you about your enquiry and provide a quote.
• To carry out and invoice the work you engage us for.
• To keep the compliance and safety records electrical work requires.
• To understand which advertisements generate genuine enquiries.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

Who else handles it

Some of our systems are run by service providers on our behalf, and your information passes through them:

• The Agency Alternative, who run our advertising, this website, our enquiry forms and our call tracking.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram), where you may have submitted a lead form. See facebook.com/privacy/policy.
• Google, for advertising measurement and our Business Profile.
• Telephony and email providers that deliver calls and messages to us.

These providers may store information outside Australia. We only use providers required to keep your information secure and to use it solely to deliver their service to us.

Marketing, and how to stop it

If you enquire with us we may contact you by phone, SMS or email about that enquiry and about your job. If you would rather we did not, tell us and we will stop. Reply STOP to any SMS, or email us at the address below.

Keeping it secure, and how long we hold it

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Enquiry records are kept only as long as we need them, and job records for as long as the law requires.

Getting a copy, a correction, or a deletion

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email oliver@forsterelectricalco.com.au or call 0422 308 096. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and the date at the top.
